FAIRBANK: "HYON SONG WOL IS ALIVE AND WELL"

WHY I THINK HYON SONG WOL IS ALIVE AND WELL

By Bian-lian Huang

This Fairbank Report was one of the first media outside the Korean Peninsula to report the alleged execution of Hyon Song Wol and her band mates. See below.

And since then DPRK confederates on Youtube (where else?!) have been making loud denunciations against the Choson Ilbo and South Korea for manufacturing this "false" story.  They have conspicuously invited the world to watch Ms. Hyon and her band's performance on September 9, 2013, to mark the 65th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.  (Their invitation is plastered throughout DPRK-affiliated Youtube channels.)

Why not produce Ms. Hyon today or yesterday for that matter?  If not into anything else, Communists love political theater.  For the last four days, the Internet has been abuzzed with the alleged execution of Ms. Hyon and her orchestra players. Fans have flooded Youtube with their consolation for the victims' families and condemnation against the regime.

What great political fun the DPRK will then reap against the Choson Ilbo and South Korea when a vibrant and healthy Ms Hyon shows up to sing her greatest hits -- including, we hope, "Excellent, Horse-like Lady."

Stay tuned until September 9...
